First Signs

The first sign of something special in Lucia’s life happened in 1915 when, with seven years old, she started taking care of the family flock. With three other children (Teresa Matias, Maria Rosa and Maria Justino), in a hill called Cabeço, near Aljustrel, they saw in the sky a white figure, like a person wrapped in a sheet, when they are praying the rosary. This happened three times before her cousins Francisco and Jacinta join her with theis own flock.
